Tower Audio completed a Holden Monaro head unit upgrade in Melbourne, installing a Pioneer touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and an integrated reverse camera.
The new head unit sits beneath the Monaro’s original climate-control panel, introducing modern smartphone connectivity while retaining the factory dashboard layout.
Pioneer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Installation
The Holden Monaro’s original stereo was replaced with a Pioneer touchscreen head unit supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The system provides access to compatible smartphone navigation apps, hands-free calling, messaging and music streaming.
As shown in the installation photograph, the Pioneer display fits into the central dashboard below the factory temperature display and climate-control buttons.
This arrangement lets the Monaro keep its distinctive interior layout without needing a large, externally mounted touchscreen.
Holden Monaro Reverse Camera Installation
Tower Audio also installed a reverse camera integrated with the Pioneer head unit.
The camera image appears directly on the touchscreen with coloured parking guidelines, helping the driver view the area behind the vehicle when reversing.
Using the existing multimedia display eliminates the need for a separate reversing monitor.
Holden Monaro Door Sound Deadening
Tower Audio also applied sound-deadening material inside the Holden Monaro’s door panels to help reduce panel vibration and unwanted resonance.
This treatment complements the Pioneer multimedia upgrade by improving the vehicle’s acoustic environment.
