Comments: As usual the Alpine CD Tuner performs well and the MB Quart components are loud and precise. The big surprise here was the amount of bass that we managed to extract from the sub. We have tried plenty of different combinations in these utes, but this was by far the best. Not to mention the fact that we didn’t expect to get so much out of the Rockford 4 channel ( The P4004 is only rated at 50 watts RMS x 4 channels but delivered closer to 100 watts RMS per channel)
As shown in the pictures, the sub sits under the tray next to the fuel tank and in this case we have custom designed a sealed enclosure which fits just like a bought one. You definitely can’t go past this on a “Bang for buck” basis and we’ve even added this one to our list of highly recommended subwoofer system designs for the VY ute.
This system definitely out performed our expectations. Looking at the vehicle, the only indication of an aftermarket stereo system is the Alpine CD tuner, but even that works through the controls on the steering wheel. We’ve managed to get huge bass, sound quality all in factory positions, the vehicles owner has a permantent smile on his face, and, there’s still room for a baby seat!!
What more could you ask for?.............
