Vehicle Description: 2002 Holden Astra Convertible
Mission: A Damn fine sounding Audio Visual system with arguably the smoothest bass you will ever hear in a convertible. We set out to create a visually appealing Installation without sacrificing sound quality, or frequency response.
Control Room: Alpine IVA-D300E Motorised screen running with a DHA-S680 DVD Changer. (Alpine PXA-H701 Processor to be added as soon as they are available).
Power Plant: 4 x Alpine MRD-M300 Amplifiers to run subs. 2 x Alpine MRV-t420 Amplifiers to run front and rear speakers.
Running Gear: Alpine “X Series” SPX-137A Components Front and Rear.
Low End: 4 x Alpine SWS-1041D 10” subs running in band-pass enclosure.
Accessories: VDO MS-5400 Navigation System, Steinmetz wheels and exhaust, Optima D34 Battery, Lightning Audio wiring.
Head Installer: Adam Swinden, Ken Leigh, Terence Toh
Store: Tower Audio Melton & Oakleigh
Comments: I think we’ve done it! This car sounds great with the roof on or off, the installation was just what we were aiming for, and the A/V system makes the drive through Chapel street a real experience. Now if we can only get about another 50% out of the engine we’ll be truly happy! On a serious note, we hope to see it competing in SQ in the near future
