Mission: I don't know whether it's just a Mazda 3 thing but this is car could almost be described as the extra Tower Audio demo car
The mission was simple - as always. Build an audio system which was clean and loud, then finish with an install which continues the theme of the vehicles interior and add a touch of class!

Running Gear: 2 pairs Alpine SPX 177R Type X components mounted in the front and rear doors.
Low End: 2 x Alpine SWX 1242D Type X Subs in a dual slot ported enclosure.
Accessories: Optima D34 battery, Lightning Audio wiring and 1 Farad Capacitor.

Comments: It was fortunate that when this customer was looking around for an audio system for his new Mazda 3, we just happened to have a ready made demo system to give him an idea of just what is possible.
The big surprise in this system was the Alpine subs. The slot ported enclosure really gets those babies working to the tune of just over 141db on the Term-Pro meter with a relatively flat frequency response.
To get a better idea of just what that means, we had to modify the original port - which can be seen along the bottom of the enclosure - and reinforce it to alleviate the almost 1 inch movement that it was getting in the centre of the box when we initially pumped it up. That's some serious punch!
We can now say from experience that we highly recommend this type of enclosure (as long as it is properly designed and installed) for these vehicles. We would also like to highly recommend the 2,000 Watts RMS to go with it!
Completion Date: October, 2005.
